Well, I thought it was about time for me to update again. Unfortunately, I'm getting kind of tired, so not sure how enlightening this post is actually going to be, but I guess that's all right.
As you probably all ready know, the three weeks to which my subject refers is to my vacation. Three weeks from this precise time, I will be on the train, probably somewhere in Minnesota, on my way to beginning my overdue vacation. Just twenty-one more days to go. SMILE!
For whatever reason the past couple of weeks have been crazy for blindness products at work, and looking at my schedule for the next two weeks, and part of the third, things aren't going to slow down at all. Tomorrow I'm at the VA doing a training on the PlexTalk PTR2. (Sorry there's no link; I told you I was getting tired.) Then I'll be doing a SARA install. Tuesday I have to take a Transit van to an appointment which is supposed to start at 10:00 AM. Unfortunately, I'm sure not going to be there on time since the van pick-up time is at 10:00. The individual who I am going to be seeing reads these entries, so please know that I'm not complaining about the trip, just sort of whining about the lack of better service. SMILE! That one will be easy, (I think). GRIN!
Wednesday is, for the most part, party day! I've got a staff meeting, but then we're all going to be going to the bosses house for a staff party. So yes, we have to work, but then we can have some fun later. I can't remember exactly what I have going on for the rest of the week, but my calendar is filled. The next week I'm traveling either two or three days doing KNFB reader demos, training, or whatever, and there's a bunch of other things going on as well, but again I can't think of them, and you probably don't want a play-by-play of my schedule anyway. SMILE! Oh yeah, and starting on the 7th, (which will actually be the 10th since I'm on the road on the 7th and can't actually start that day), I'm teaching a class on MSN/Windows Messenger and Skype. So, at some point over the next week I need to sit down and put together my hand-outs since I never did any for this class the first time I did the messenger part, and I have nothing on Skype as of yet.
One thing I'm doing the week of my trip is a full day Kurzweil 1000 teach the teacher session. We've been doing this for a long time with Kurzweil 3000, (I'm not doing that particular program of course), but this will be the first time with K1000. Apparently there have been many requests from teachers around the state who want to become more familiar with the program, so that'll be happening on the 15th. I think that will be a lot of fun.
In other news ... Wait, do I have any other news? I don't particularly have a social life at the moment, and I hardly have time to breathe. Oh wait, speaking of breathing, I may actually have some news. A couple of weeks back Jim and I met with a benefits specialist. If you haven't ever done this I want to tell you two things. First, it takes forever! Second, it's probably one of the best things you can ever do for yourself and I would highly recommend it. It turns out that we're most likely eligible for insurance that we have, up to this point, not had. We have a meeting next week with the person again and she's going to go over our summary with us and discuss her findings. You're probably wondering what this has to do with breathing though. And it's something like this.
Those of you who were reading my entries when I was over on Word Press know the entire story with my two sleep studies, and the issues behind my nonexistent CPAP machine that Medi-Don't-Care won't pay for. Well, if we get this insurance, I'm going to take my doctor's suggestion and go see the pulmonary specialist that she recommended and see if I can still get the machine. With the insurance I know I'll have little to no fees and can finally get things taken care of, hopefully. So I'll have to keep everyone updated on that whole thing when it happens.
Well, it's almost bedtime for myself, so I think I'm going to end this entry, but thought I'd post something to let everyone know that I'm still alive, even if it is only halfway. SMILE!
