I'm sitting here at work using email for LJ since this is the only way I
can interact from here. I've got some time to kill while I wait for a
call to come in, and without this call I can't do anything more. So, I
hope it comes in pretty soon.
But anyway, yes, it's me. I do write things other than trivia posts from
time to time. So, what's new with me? Maybe a lot, maybe nothing.
The big thing for me, of course, as I mentioned in my trivia entry, is
is coming down for another visit today.
In fact, if things are moving on schedule this morning, he's probably
sitting on the bus now waiting to pull out of Winnipeg. He'll get to my
apartment this afternoon before I do, and I'm looking forward to getting
home and seeing him there. I'm not so sure that Taz and Cally share my
feelings though, but waaaa! Tonight we decided to eat in. The main
course is pork since we both really like it. Farmland has a series of
pork loins that are pre-seasoned and ready to cook, and my grocery store
carries many of them. They've got garlic herb, chipolte barbecue,
peppercorn, one that I can't remember, and the one that Bruce picked,
garlic and butter. I've tried a few of them and they're absolutely
fabulous!!! I don't think I've tried this particular one yet, but I
haven't been disappointed with them yet so I'm looking forward to this.
Even though I'm only going to be able to take off one day of work while
he's here, we're both really looking forward to this time. There are
plenty of things that he can do to occupy himself, and I've done the
same while visiting him.
Hmm. What else. There's just not a lot to tell these days. I get up
about 5:00 every morning except weekends, I'm out of the apartment by
6:45, and get home somewhere between 4:45 and 5:15 in the evenings,
depending on transportation. That doesn't really leave me a lot of time
to create any excitement for myself. I'm tired when I get home, so I
really look forward to 9:00 when I can go to bed, only to start the
whole process over again the next day. Don't get me wrong, believe it or
not, I'm actually not complaining. I'm happy with my job, despite the
occasional annoyances, but you've got that in any work environment. I
think my only major complaint is that I'd hoped after 6 months of this
routine I'd actually start to get used to it and maybe get some extra
energy, but it just hasn't happened yet. I really admire those who come
home, cook really fancy meals and then spend the night playing with
their kids. Sometimes I barely have the energy to heat up a frozen
something in the oven. But, this beats the alternative. It's still hard
to believe though that it's been six months.
Well, I don't really know what else to say at the moment, so I suppose
I'll send this off and let it post. I truly haven't forgotten about LJ,
even if I don't post much anymore. If you tend to skip my trivia
entries, I do sometimes post little tidbits in with my score and the
