If I have to tell Outlook one more time not to show the message about
composing in plain text, I'm going to pull out my hair! Okay, so maybe
not, but it's a setting that, for whatever reason, doesn't stick from
session to session here, and I suspect that asking my IT person to use
his admin rights to make the setting stick just so that I can send plain
text messages to LiveJournal probably wouldn't really go over very well.
So, I'll survive.
Okay, so first of all, I'm getting my milk!!! I know that you're
probably all losing sleep over this, so I wanted to get that out of the
way right away. I submitted my order last night, and was definitely able
to get the time I wanted today. Now, let's hope I can get home in time
tonight. I got home last night at about 5:45, and was pretty much dead
for the rest of the evening.
That brings me to my second completely random thing. I haven't written
about this here I don't think, but I've been giving weekly updates on
Twitter. I need a total of 56 vacation hours by October 6th so that I
can take a week and a half off. I totally can't wait for this vacation!
But, in order to make this work, I'm having to put in a lot of overtime.
We've got a great program here where we can earn up to 24 hours in
credit. We don't get extra pay for these hours, but we can use them for
extra time off. So, for the past few weeks, I've been staying later in
the afternoons to get this extra time. I'm finally starting to see the
end of all this. After today, I only need 6 hours and 15 minutes before
I've got my full 24 hours. I'm hoping to have this in place by next
Friday so that my last full week before the vacation can have shorter
days, but it's also a back-up week for me if by some chance I'm not able
to get the time I want. I'm making some really long days for myself
right now, but the end result is going to be worth it. The rest of the
56 hours is coming from my annual time that I get automatically every
Finally, my back hurts again. I know, waaa! I really need to come up
with a better way of carrying things back from my PO box because I think
I'm twisting my back or something while I'm carrying the tote bag on my
left shoulder. Maybe some year I'll start using a backpack instead of
these totes, but they're absolutely perfect for most of these PO runs!
Well, I suppose I should stop procrastinating and actually get back to
work. I've got about 3.5 hours left until the end of my day.
